It also comes with an HEPA filter that blocks out allergens.

It's not as effective at cleaning pet hair or other small dirt as our top choices, but it's a great option for those on a budget. It also offers the most app features, including zones that are virtual and no-go cleaning.

1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The iRobot Roomba i3+ is a well-built robot with an enormous dirt compartment that automatically drains into the docking station once full. It is then able to clean again once it's recharged. It has a large external dirt compartment that it automatically fills up into the docking station once it's full, and then resumes cleaning after it's fully charged. It's efficient in removing small and medium debris, but struggles with pet hair.

Similar to the i3 EVO, this robot utilizes iRobot's iAdapat 3.0 navigation software to help you navigate your home's layout and to remember specific rooms for future cleanings. It also has a feature that automatically adjusts the height of its head and suction power depending on the type of floor it's working on.

During our testing it performed admirably on both hard floors as well as low-pile carpeting, picking most of the smaller, more difficult debris that we dropped on each surface, while also dealing with the larger crumbs of cereal we deposited on the carpet. It's not as adept at picking up pet hair than other models we test. It may also get stuck on toys or cords when you don't remove them prior to sending the robot to clean.

In our tests In our tests, the i3+ EVO was clean for a period of about 90 minutes before the battery ran low and it reverted to its base. It was more efficient than the i7+ and s9+ which both ran for only 60 minutes in our tests. The i3+ EVO also has an excellent track record of recollecting the exact place it left off on a given run this isn't the case with other robots we've examined.

The i3+ EVO dustbin measures 1.5 quarts, which is smaller than the majority of other robots that we evaluated. It has a release button on one side of the bin that you can press to empty it. You can also empty it by using the docking station’s Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal, which soaks up the contents of its internal dustbin before emptying it into the station’s external dirt bag.

2. Eureka Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro offers outstanding cleaning efficiency, with a suction of 5,500pa and mopping technology that can be up and running in just a few minutes. Its 770ml dustbin as well as water tank can reduce the frequency of emptying and its huge capacity allows for longer mopping sessions. The 240-minute runtime makes it a fantastic option for homes with a larger size. The robot's advanced navigation technology, which is built on PreciSense LiDAR mapping, ensures that it covers the entire space and is able to navigate around obstacles.

The Q5 Pro is unlike some other robot vacuums that require Wi-Fi in order to operate. However, its battery is rather small, so it is necessary to charge it frequently in case you intend to use the machine for a long period of time. It is relatively easy to maintain and comes with a dirt bag which can be easily replaced, and a simple maintenance schedule. It's also less expensive than its more expensive rivals.

The Q5 Pro is a bit cautious when it comes to larger debris and pet hair, however, it does a great job in general. In our tests the Q5 Pro was able to remove more debris from floors and low pile carpet than Dirt Devil Endura Max. However, it had trouble finding narrow corners and recessed high-pile areas. It's also a lot more maneuverable, and the filtering system does an excellent job at trapping allergens. However the straight suction floorhead is low to be able to move over heavy or heavy debris. It also has some minor drawbacks such as its lack of advanced features and limited functionality of the remote control. Eureka Q5 Pro, despite its limitations, is an excellent alternative for those looking for a basic robotic vacuum with mopping capabilities.

3. SwitchBot K10 Plus

The SwitchBot K10 plus is a great option to get a smart vacuum that can also mop. The small size of this robot lets it reach places larger robots can't like corners or under furniture. It also has an advanced LiDAR sensor which can detect obstacles and avoid collisions.

During our testing, the K10 Plus vacuumed up pet hair, crumbs and other debris quickly and efficiently from our carpeting. It also did a fantastic job of getting into tight spots such as under our bed or around the chair's legs. It can be used to mop with a separate cloth, or use a wet wipe. The K10 Plus comes with a small bag of wet wipes to get you moving.

The application for the K10 Plus is intuitive and easy to use. It has several customization options such as setting a time when the machine will not be disturbed, adjusting its map layout or setting a timer of when it needs to clean. The app also monitors the use of different accessories such as the filter, side brush bin filter, side brush, and sensors. This helps you to know when to replace the items.

The K10 Plus's battery life is pretty good too. We got approximately three hours of cleaning out of it with the full charge. It also recharges fairly quickly. It is able to discharge dirt into a bin that is located inside the base station after it's finished. This can be a bit loud when it happens, but at least it's not as loud as the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tried.

4. iRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ is part of the premium S Series of the manufacturer which is higher than models like the iRobot Roomba j7 or iRobot Roomba i3. It is very effective on various floor surfaces and is able to maneuver around furniture. Its main brushroll features counter-rotating rubber scrapers which effectively remove most dirt including pet hair from bare floors and carpets. The suction power it has in real-world is good for a robot but not as strong as the more expensive models like the Roborock S8.

The Roomba S9+'s design is clearly elegant, with a D-shaped body that appears more modern than its circular competitors. This shape helps it to reach corners and along edges more easily. While it could leave some dust behind in these areas in the event that the corner brush isn't turning fast enough, its powerful motor more than makes up for this.

In the tests conducted by iRobot, the S9+ was able to pick up cat litter and pet hair easily. It also performed admirably on hard floors, where it used its powerful motor to power through all kinds of debris and clean the edges and corners effortlessly. Its advanced vSLAM technology and Imprint Smart Mapping made it one of the top navigators we have. It can make its way under sofas or beds with draped valances over them.

The iRobot App makes it simple to set up and use. You can choose the functions you want to activate when you first set up the robot, or hold off until you've had a feel for it. Its internal bin does need to be emptied manually when it gets full however, the process takes less than 15 seconds and it's quite quiet.

5. Roborock S8

This latest version of the Roborock S Series is a powerful robot vacuum and mop combination with a comprehensive feature set. Like its predecessors, it uses a LIDAR sensor and camera system to aid in navigation and obstacles avoidance. The application's mapping engine creates a 3D-interactive map of your home, allowing you to designate certain rooms for spot cleaning or set up no-go zones. The app lets you set the robot's schedule and select different mopping and vacuuming modes for each room.

The S8 has improved HyperForce suction that is able to clean up small hair and particles with ease. You can use the app to alter the power of suction, and the device will automatically switch between energy-efficient 'Quiet, Balanced', and 'Turbo' modes depending on the surface it's cleaning. It also has a 'Carpet Suction Boost' mode which increases suction when the robot is on rugs.

You can control the S8 with a single button, which doubles as a general 'Clean button' or an 'Spot Clean button to direct the robot to that location. You can also use the 'Dock/Home' button in order to return the robot to its base station. The app is simple to use and has an impressive array of features. It even lets you choose off-peak times for charging to reduce the cost of using peak-time electricity.

The only drawback is that the battery won't last nearly the amount of time I'd like. It only lasted 130 minutes when I used it on standard settings, with both vacuuming & mopping enabled. That's a remarkable amount of time, and it was enough to completely clean my apartment.
